Mathcad Installation
Students at Louisiana Tech University can download and install Mathcad on their laptops and use it for educational purposes. The instructions below describe how to install Mathcad Prime.
Steps:
- Download the source files using this link (Mathcad zip) for Mathcad Prime 9.0
- Extract the compressed files by right-clicking on the file you downloaded, then clicking “Extract All”
- Once the extraction is complete, enter the newly created folder
- Click on “Setup” (or “Setup.exe). Follow the on-screen instructions
- During the installation process, the license wizard will launch. Select “Configure product to use existing license.” Click “Next”
- Select the version of Mathcard you are trying to license
- In the field for Server, type “138.47.18.177” and for Port type, “7777” then click “Next” and “Exit”
- Now you should be able to run Mathcad normally as long as you are online
Alternate Installation Procedure: If the license wizard does not launch during installation, or if you already have installed a trial version of Mathcad Prime, you may run the unlicensed Mathcad and enter the license server from that point.
- Click the large “M” at the top left corner of Mathcad Prime
- Select “Options” then click on the “License” tab
- Under “License Configuration” for Server type “138.47.18.177” and the for Port type “7777” and click “Apply”
- At the top of the screen, the license status should change to “Valid.” Click close
- Now you should be able to run Mathcad normally as long as you are online
Mathcad 15 is no longer supported
